TRAFFIC DATA COLLECTION
Traffic surveys obtain information about vehicle volume, class and movement. Traffic data collection and analysis is performed to provide a basis for planning and design of transportation facilities; assist traffic operation by indicating the requirements for traffic control devices such as traffic signals, signs and pavement markings; and evaluate the effects of road safety measures and other changes made for traffic by performing "before and after" traffic studies.
